Join Alek for 8 days and 7 nights in Chacala, Mexico just an hour and a half north of Puerto Vallarta.
Mar de Jade (Sea of Jade) is a retreat center that welcomes people to rest and enjoy a simple way of life. Set between a tropical jungle mountainside and the rolling waves of the Pacific Ocean, Mar de Jade is surrounded by natural beauty and absolute tranquility.
This retreat is an opportunity to practice yoga together in a beautiful, natural setting, away from the usual distractions of daily life. We will explore a balanced practice including asana, movement, breathing techniques, and relaxation led by Alek Trail. Classes will be offered in a way to accommodate a variety of levels with the expectation that students are in relatively good physical condition and have a solid familiarity with Vinyasa Flow Yoga’s commonly used asanas and transitions. All students are (always) encouraged to modify the practice so that it meets their needs.
Yoga
Alek will lead a total of 11 classes yoga classes assisted by Hanna Malm and Katie Issel Pitre.
This retreat is for students in relatively good physical condition, who have a solid familiarity with Vinyasa Flow Yoga’s commonly used asanas and transitions.
Food
All food served at Mar de Jade focuses on offering healthy, local and when possible, organic products. Vegetarian dishes as well as fresh fish, seafood, and some chicken are available.
Meals are prepared from scratch using many ingredients from the Organic Farm on site; free range eggs, organic milk, corn, beans, leafy greens, carrots, mangoes, passion fruit, hibiscus, peanuts and many other fruits and vegetables. At the buffet table, you can find many homemade goods such as: yogurt, cheese and other dairy products, soy milk, granola, breads and pastries, pastas, hummus, tofu, and our stellar organic peanut butter and mango marmalade (now available for purchase).
Accommodations
All of Mar de Jade’s rooms are unique and offer different styles, views and characteristics, and have private bathrooms, natural bath amenities, hot water, in-room safe, mosquito screen windows/doors and ceiling fans. Ocean and Garden rooms also have air conditioning.

The cost of the retreat includes:
- Room and board for 8 days / 7 nights. Rooms are shared with 1-3 people (Single Occupancy rooms are available, please be in touch if you’d prefer a private room)
- 11 yoga classes
Not included in the cost:
- Round-trip airfare to Puerto Vallarta (PV), MX
- Transportation to or from the airport
There are 12 total reservations available for this retreat. Timely payment is required in order to secure your reservation.
Tuition payments are non-refundable unless you are able to find another student to take your place. We understand that plans may change, however per person cost is based on full occupancy.
