Teacher Training II

Registration is Always Open!

FYTT II offers the greatest level of depth of all of the Barefoot Movement programs. It is an opportunity for yoga teachers to deepen their understanding, their practice, their teaching skills and their personal development in a profound way.

FYTT II is specifically designed for graduates of Barefoot Movement’s 200-hour FYTT I program, however, all yoga teachers and graduates of other teacher training programs are welcome to apply.

Upon Completion:

Students receive a certificate from Barefoot Movement which may be submitted, by the student, to Yoga Alliance for registration at the RYT500 level (Registered Yoga Teacher, 500 hour level).
200-hour level I training + 300-hour level II training = 500 hours.

Program Content:

1) Level II Workshops
100 hours of Level II Workshops at Barefoot Movement.
17 hours of homework is to be expected.

2) Apprenticeship
90 hours of participation in a 5 - 8 month Apprenticeship Program led by one of the FYTT II instructors.

3) Deepening Your Practice (DYP) classes
DYPs are series’ of extended asana classes, listed with the Level II Workshops
60 hours

4) Specialization of Student’s Choice
20 hours of training in a specific area that the student proposes for approval. The focus could be on, for example, restorative yoga, yoga for trauma, or it could be on a special population. Some examples of Special Population groups are: prenatal (offered annually at Barefoot Movement), kids, at-risk youth, cancer patients, larger bodies, athletes and incarcerated adults. Your 20 hour training could be at Barefoot Movement or elsewhere.

If your training(s) go slightly over or under the twenty hours allotted, then the Level II Workshops hours may be adjusted accordingly.
10 hours of teaching yoga to that special population.
3 hours of homework: A typed essay, article or letter describing your experience working with that special population.

300 hours total

The student determines the intensity of the program by either, overlapping components to finish in the shortest amount of time, or taking breaks between components to increase the duration of the program.

Cost:

Pay for individual components as you go. Look for early registration and other discounts on the individual components’ tuition.
