Flow Yoga Teacher Training I
These 200 hour Certification programs provide the basic foundation needed to teach flow yoga classes.
Successful completion of a 200 hour program provides eligibility for Yoga Alliance’s RYT200 certification (Registered Yoga Teacher, 200 hour level).
Barefoot Movement’s Flow Yoga Teacher Training 200 hour program was created as a result of student requests. Interested in becoming instructors themselves, Leah Gillman’s students approached her with the idea. To round out the program, Leah sought the help of Carrie Adams and then also Parag Mody, Julie Bata, Ambika Selvan and Mary Beth Ray whose styles and talents all compliment each other beautifully.
One of the strengths of the FYTT program is its more intimate nature. Class size is limited to fewer than 20 participants. To accommodate the variety of strengths and abilities among students, the program provides the necessary structure, motivating and encouraging all levels of students, while additional opportunities are made available to those who are ready for more.
FYTT is affiliated with a few local organizations including Soja Martial Arts and the Downtown Oakland YMCA. These mutually beneficial relationships provides additional classes to the community while providing additional teaching opportunities to FYTT participants.
Students participate in the FYTT program for many different reasons. Some are hoping to launch full-time careers in the yoga field, some do it for personal growth, while others enroll to enhance their abilities to give the gifts of yoga to their family, friends, and to under-served communities that would benefit from yoga classes.
We are excited about connecting certified FYTT graduates with people and organizations that are addressing under-served communities. If you know of a place that could benefit from a FYTT graduate’s teaching, please let us know!
