Partner Prenatal Yoga is a practice for expectant mothers and a partner. The class focuses on side-by-side yoga poses and partner yoga poses. The poses help alleviate pregnancy discomforts and some poses can also be used during labor. This practice explores breath awareness, meditation, and comfort measures for labor. Your partner will also learn easy massage technique that will support relaxation during pregnancy and labor.

Though seemingly illusive, pranic (upward, invigorating energy) and apanic (downward, calming energy) actions help to bring clarity and direction to the energetic pathways in the body.
In this workshop, we will explore not only how to find these two contradictory, yet complementary actions of rooting and uplifting in different postures, but also to use these actions to find more depth in one’s yoga practice.
Through finding these subtle, yet very attainable sensations, students will learn how to feel the direction of energy lines of the body and bring a new sense of curiosity and playfulness to their asana practice.

DYAPs are series’ of asana classes, at least 2 hours long, with a consistent group of students.

Leah Gillman Apprenticeship ProgramApprenticeship Program

The AP consists of three components:

1) Attend at least one public ‘regular’ class per week with Leah for the duration of the program. There is no charge for this class, and these hours do not count toward your FYTT II hours
Mondays 6:00 - 8:00 pm, Wednesdays & Fridays 9:30 - 11:30 am

2) Attend Leah’s Deepen Your Asana Practice (DYAP) a series of 2.5 hour asana classes with a consistent group of students
September 13 - December 6 (no class on November 29)
Sundays 11:30 - 2:00

3) Attend AP meetings during which one of the apprentices teaches a 1.5 hr class that is open to the public. The other apprentices will either assist or observe the class. Following a short break, there will be a discussion. Meetings take place on alternate Sundays, plus two Saturdays for a total of 8 meetings

The Apprenticeship Program (AP) takes participants to their next level in: their asana practice, their teaching and their overall understanding of yoga and how it is integrating into their daily life. The unique format of the AP is varied, offering a well-rounded experience. Apprentices spend time as a student in ‘regular classes’, as an assistant in classes, as a teacher, and in discussions that are based on the questions, challenges and openings that emerge for the participants.

There is a limit of 8 apprentices.

All graduates of the FYTT I program are eligible to participate in the Apprenticeship Program.

Graduates of teacher training programs, or an equivalent background from outside of Barefoot Movement are very welcome, they simply need to fill out the Application Form.

The Apprenticeship Program is a required component for the Flow Yoga Teacher Training, Level II (FYTT II) program.

Balancing Your Nervous System

Yoga has been scientifically proven to induce immediate stress relief and help alleviate long-term symptoms of disease by balancing the whole nervous system. In this workshop we will discuss why and how yoga has this effect on the nervous system and practice specific postures and centering practices that fortify a healthy response to stressful experiences and conditions.

Fall is a transitional time for the natural world and for our bodies; this is an ideal time to clear our internal landscape and strengthen the immune system as we head into winter.
In this workshop you will learn basic Ayurvedic principles for balanced eating and guidelines for cleansing during the Fall season. You will come away with information to do a self-guided cleanse on your own, including recipes and supportive practices.

Yoga for Better Sleep
